Just dropping a line to let you know about a bug in Safari that has ended up
causing me a ton of headaches in PWC.
Essentially, Safari improperly cashes Iframe content. If you're using PWC to
create successive modal windows with different iframe sources, or trying to
update the URL of a PWC modal, Safari may just keep showing the content of
first page loaded within the iframe and not update it.
You can read more about this bug here:
http://www.s-seven.net/iframe_test.html
http://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3580
Anyway, I tried hacking a fix both within my code and within window.js, and I
just couldn't. I even got to a point where the setURL content source said it
was setting the url to yahoo.com, and getURL swore it was yahoo.com, but the
iframe continued to display the cached page. Very frustrating!
Anyway, if it ever comes up for anyone again, I wanted to let it be known that
it was a bug on Safari's side, not Prototype Window Class.
