Hint: You should be hiding it using a method of the window object, not the DOM
object. :)

I'd like to hide a modal alert window in a reverse ajax callback.
If I do $('win_id').hide() it only hide the window and leave the
modal_overlay there, whereas the OK button hide the modal_overlay.
How can I do ?
