the source packages are there, try it out. Let me know if anything doesn't work, or if it's not backwards-compatible (it shoudl be).
The most interesting change is the UsbInterfacePolicy. An interesting side note to the policy is the 'forceClaim' option, which allows you (on certain Linux kernels, 2.5 and from 2.4.23-pre2) to remove existing USB drivers from any usb interface, so you can drive the interface from userspace.
