A while ago I tried briefly to run
reference implementation of javax.usb on J2ME. It was just a quick
experiment to see if it can be built for my platform and if it will run there. I
didn't see any problems. J2ME was probably a CDC HI 1.0.1 from Sun. It was on a
MIPS box running Linux 2.4 (2.4.18 or more recent).

Hi there,
we're currently looking at J2ME PP for a number of applications
and have been speaking to Sun regarding future developments regarding
USB support. We were advised to contact the JSR-80 expert group after
hearing that it may be possible to integrate the IBM USB API into present
J2ME systems. Obviously we were wondering whether this is possible and
whether anyone could advise us on current
developments.
Alternatively, is it possibly to use the Generic
Connection Framework to accomplish the same goal?
Many thanks, look
forward to your reply.
Regards, Peter.
