From Alex Gardiner

Deep in recent posts was a request for a simple USB device that would allow help Java USB developers get started. I had this problem a few months ago when, new to USB and not very experienced in Java. I eventually got the system working with some help on Hot Plugging from Brad Barcley . The device is a Comfort Meter/ Barometer/Hygrometer - see www.computti.com for initial details. It will be available Q1 2006. From the USB point of view, it is very simple. Other than enumeration, when asked, it replies with 8 bytes. The program for hotplugging is actually easier to understand than the examples provided.

There is still room in the program ROM for some additional features which might help in Java USB development, eg an input request that changes the 8 bytes to a known pattern.

If anyone thinks this is a good idea, you can contact me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
