Sometimes it takes traffic to generate traffic. What
are compelling subjects for javelin afficianados to
discuss?
I, for one, would love to discuss topics regarding the
effect of physical changes to the javelin. For instance,
thongs were once permitted. How much extra distance, as
a coefficient, be expected from such a device? Also,
what happened to the record books when the javelins were
reconfigured by changing their centers of gravity after
throws approaching 340' were becoming possible? How
can we compare today's throws if the current throwers
had the "juiced" javelin available just a few years ago.
It's as if sprinters, because they go so fast, were
suddenly forced to have 1/2 pound weights in their
sneakers. How do you compare speeds?
What other innovations have been tried? (fins?)
