Hi David
The latest information I have for |Scottish U13G javelin throws are about
29.00m. I have no serious female javelin throwers at my club so I cannot
give a comparison. The average is about 16.00m.
I must say that 39.38m is very, very good. It is hard to transfer enough
energy into so light a javelin. One of our male athletes threw 49.00m with a
400g javelin last year. But that was just for fun and he was an U17M at the
time.
I too would be interested to know what the average throws are in the younger
age groups. In Scotland we have very litte competition for these age groups
in javelin ( club championships and one league ) in the season. Preference
is given to shot put. We are trying to change that.
Yours in sport
