Hi
sore elbow is normally brought about by throwing the javelin with the hand
too low.
Joe, who had problems with his sore wrist, also said that the javelin was
going to the right. Assuming he is right handed, that would be a symptom of
throwing with the hand too low.
The hand then comes around the shoulder causing a lot of strain on the
tendons on the inside of the elbow, in the upper part of the arm.
One of my athletes picked up this injury some 4 years ago and we traced it
back to that. He still has trouble with it if he throws a lot.
The moral of the tale is not to get it.
You are a very good thrower to do 70 meters or so.
Nurse the injury. Get advice from a physiotherapist.
Lastly: congratulations to Joe. Well done on the first. Even bigger well
done on the increased distance.
PB's to everyone. Have a fun start to your season ( Northern Hemisphere
only ).

Subject: [JAV] elbow soreness
I have never had any wrist soreness, but for the past year or so, as my
distances have increased to around 240' I have had a lot of problems with my
elbow. Even after a break from throwing it still hurt when I started again.
I have tried using a thermoskin thing, but it didn't really help. Does
anyone have this problem and an easy way to solve it?
