There's one more thing that I can think of to try here. When you're in the 
IE properties settings dialog, open the Configuration Manager. The 
configuration file should be named System Dialogs.jcf. Press ALT+S followed 
by the letter A to open the Advanced settings and see if Rely on MSAA for 
List Views is checked. If it is, this probably means that you turned this 
option on in the default configuration at some point, since I seriously 
doubt that you'd have set it in the System Dialogs configuration. Close the 
first configuration without changing anything and open the Default.jcf file 
by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+D and make the same check. If this setting is turned 
on, turn it off and save the configuration.
