Okay, here's how to get what I think you want (a list of all the files in 
your My Documents folder):

1. Open Start Menu.
2. Press P to open the Programs submenu.
3. Select the Accessories submenu and press RIGHT ARROW.
4. Locate Command Prompt and press ENTER.
5. At the Command Prompt, type cd "my documents" The quotation marks are 
required.
6. Type dir /b /on /s >C:\MyFiles.txt
7. Type exit to close the Command Prompt.

This will create a file named MyFiles.txt in the root of your C-drive. If 
you want to have the list placed in the My Documents folder, don't include 
the C:\ when you type the dir command.

hi all. I am looking for a program that will take my documents and convert 
it in to a .txt file so that i could let every one know what stuff i have to 
shair with  some other lists that i am apart of? my documents has a lot of 
sub folders in it and so i would like those to be converted in to.txt files 
as well so that i don't have to have a sepprit file for every folder that is 
in my documents. Many thanks for any help you could give me and ihope that
