This may or may not have anything to do with your immediate problem, but
some e-mail clients and even listserver configurations are notorious for
adding so-called "phantom" attachments to messages. In some cases, these
attachments are real, but these are really the Windows "business card";
other times, there is no attachment at all. You can always look at the
message source to see if there's really an attachment of any kind by
pressing CTRL+F3 while reading the message. If you're concerned about
opening a virus-infected message, you can do the following:

1. While the message is highlighted in the list of messages, press
ALT+ENTER.
2. Press RIGHT ARROW to move to the Details tab.
3. Press TAB twice to move to the Message Source button and press ENTER.
4. In either case, press ALT+F4 to close the message source dialog.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Annoying Word

Ever since I got up this morning, JAWS has been saying the word "Attachment"
with every email that I
get. I did not make any changes in my settings or anything like that. Does
anyone know how I can
stop JAWS from saying this. By the way, there are no attachments with the
emails. JAWS, for some
reason is just saying the word.

Mele Kalikimaka,
Scooter
