The only clue I have at the moment is that the beta 2 version of Windows
Defender expired on 31 December. This may account for the program not
working. It is a shame that the Windows Update did not flag this up.
Might be worth doing another update in a few days' time.

Very interesting. I started having the same problem yesterday. I have run
repairs, updates and re installs, all to no avail. I thought it was just
me.I also went to help and support like Defender told me to and entered How
to Start a Service Manually, and , though I cant see, I would swear they
screen asked me what the hell you talkin about???
