speech _rate_ and _pitch_, but you cannot change the volume on the fly.

If, when you bring up the JAWS menus, can change the volume of a given
synthesizer from the Options/Voices configurations I suspect these functions
would then work properly.  But whenever I bring up these menus for any of
the software synthesizers it always states (in the volume field) "Set this
using system volume control."
