Hi Victor,
I'm afraid your friend has a lengthy task ahead of her.
Since that technology hasn't come to be as of yet, she'll have to listen to
the recordings, and manually type the content.

Hi Tammy,

Unfortunately, this is not something that I need.

I actually have two programs that will do those functions and more in the
form of Gold Wave and Sound Forge.

What I need is to convert audio files, be it digital or analog to text files
in order to get a transcript of the session.

What the deal is, is that a friend of mine is going to be recording 80 hours
of interviews with different people for a school thesis. Part of the thesis
will require her to provide transcripts and have the people sign these
transcripts to illustrate that they actually said what was transcribed.

This would save her a great deal of transcribing what she and the
interviewee say.

As it is, I have received some information that Dragon Naturally Speaking
will accomplish said task, and it has a transcription setting that one can
use.

I guess we'll just have to see.

Thanks for your research, though, it is much appreciated.

Victor
