It is where he says. Be sure you're following the precise file path, not a
similar one. Also, you are using Windows XP? this matters indeed. (If you
are not using Windows XP, the following does not apply.)

You might not get there by a run path. So, Windows Explorer: Go to C: then hit
d for Documents and Settings; open it with right-arrow; look for your computer
user name, and expand the folder  with right-arrow:  Application Data, expand;
down to Microsoft, expand; down to templates, and then tab into the list view.
At that point, if you hit the letter n you will highlight "normal.dot", or hit
n until you do. Then, delete that file.

  Sorry my friend,
I am using Word-SP and I can't seem to locate the file you
are referencing. I attempted to use the address bar,
windows explorer and windows run to locate it with no
  success.

  Thanks for the shot.

      Hello mr. Stansifer.

I use MsWord 2003. What I'm thinking about is that
  you've made some
changes in font dialogue and pressed the default button.
  This saves the
changes you've made to the default template. This template
  contains the
instructions what font, size, stile and so on witch word
  should use as
default formatting when it starts. . To solv this problem
  close Word if it
is opened and go to C:\Documents and
  Settings\Username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates and delete the Normal.dot file.
  There's no problem
to do this because the next time you start Word this file
  will be recovered
with its dafault instructions. Then open Word and type some
  text to see
  what's happening.

  Good luck.
  Hope this helps.

  Negoslav

My bet is that you are or have been working with a document
with some sort of style which has been saved and become part
of the default template. Word seems to do this all the time
  to people.

  Hi Folks,

I am using MS-Word XP, Jaws 8.current and Windows home
addition. Recently Word has taken it upon itself to change
font points sizes and center text without me even asking.
Any ideas on why this might be happening and what I might do
to correct it. I have already run detect and repair on word.

  Regards
