Thanks...its not the maximise as I have tried that and I don't think it is the colour either as my Son has looked at this with me and having both machines side by side open on the same page he says there doesn't appear to be any differences.
I wonder if it might be anything to do with the graphics card on the new machine and Sight N Sound did say to go on the Siemans site and download any updates for the machine but there aren't any. The problem is that when I enter text in either the fields of 'Start a new topic' or 'Reply to this topic' the text goes in ok but then if I try to use the up, down, left or right arrow to check what I have written JAWS just says 'blank'. Previously this works fine on the IBM and from what I can tell all the settings are the same. The version of JAWS I use is 5.1. It works fine on the new laptop on other sites like for example the Google home page in search.
