I had to do that too. FS said the pro would overwrite the standard with additional setup or service files which they did that for me at their end.. The difference that they told me was, pro allows you to run in any operating systems meaning any versions of windows. Standard only works for one version home xp for instance.
I haven't experienced any problems with jaws that I'm aware of otherthan the different upgrades getting use to a new version but it's been pretty minor. I could keep running my Jaws standard in 40 minute demo, but decided to avoid the hassle. I wonder why FS don't just sell Jaws Pro, since my Jaws dealer, said that there is no real difference between the two, apart from Pro running on more operating systems. I have also not long redone my Jaws standard SMA. I therefore, had to pay the difference between the standard and pro SMA. I haven't received my Jaws Pro CDs yet, despite ordering it a week ago. Will I need to uninstall my Jaws standard, in order to install Jaws pro? I already have Jaws 8.0 on my desktop. This is the Standard version. I assume that I will be getting Jaws 8.0 for the Pro version. Will I be able to have both versions of Jaws 8.0 installed at same time? Will I be able to tell the difference between the two icons if I do?
