Hi John H.
John R. here
you can do that two ways if for example your going from say outlook express to
microsoft outlook or the other way around.

First option:
open Outlook express or microsoft outlook if your going to use any of these.
a wizzard will come up asking you to set up your details and if you want that
wizzard can also import addresses and messages from the other program you was
currently using in to the new one you are going to be using.
and that's it for that option.

option 2:
this is the one where you have to import it yourself look below for
instructions.
1. go to your address book. not in any of the E-mail programs go via the
following way:
Start/All programs/Accessories/Addressbook
now you are in the address book. if a dialogue comes up asking you if you wamt
this as your default address book that's up to you as you may have another
address book program that you like to use.
2. tab around until you hear your contacts.
3. select all, you do this, CTRL A, but once you've done this shortcut don't
press up down or left/right on the arrow keys as this will unhighlight them
addresses highlighted.
4. now go to the file menu, Alt F and select extract
5. it will ask you to choose what you want to extract them in to, you choose,
Address book (WAB)
6. hit enter on that option
now a save as dialogue will come up choose a name and location then go to the
save button.
7. it will conferm that you've saved them OK. you press enter or space on OK.
8. now close the address book remembering whee it saved the address file you
extracted.

now how to import an address book.
1. go to and open the program that you want to import the addressbook in to
2. then to file or insert depending on the program. and then go to import then
a submenu is there, go to, address book (WAB)
3. press enter on that option.
4. now a dialogue will appear press Alt I, this will jump you straight to the
location field. choose where you saved the addressbook file.
5. when you've found the file just arrow on to it and press enter and it will
import the addressbook file in to the program.
6. when it has finished it will conferm it with an OK box which you press space
or enter on and that closes it.

please note: when you've extracted the address book to an address book (WAB)
file you can not open this by pressing enter on it in the saved location. also
please note you can delete this file, rename it, over right it, and you can
move it.
please also note, don't put it on to a CD for backup as anything that it's put
on to which is read only it will not import in to the program because it must
tell the addressbook file where it is going and when you have a read only file
you can't save changes like to it

speak to you later
