Well, I only need it for a new machine I bought to do recording on. It didn't have a floppy drive and I couldn't find my floppy disc to authorize it anyway. Plus, the software I use for recording is Sonar 3 and it only works with Jaws 4.5 unless I would upgrade it, which would be several hundred to do so. So my cheapest route was to get a dongle for Jaws 4.5. So can a person get a dongle for Jaws 7.1 that will work with the Jaws thumb drive? Also, does one have to have a dongle to work with each different version of Jaws? In other words, if I got a dongle to authorize Jaws 8, would it also work with Jaws 7.1?
