Hey Marilyn,
I am using Outlook 2000. Here's what I do:
1. Go to Tools menu
2. Go to Options
3. Select Email Options from the Preference Page
4. You will land on a combo box which is called "After moving or deleting an
open item" Here you
will have 3 choices:
a. Open the previous item
b. Open the next item
c. Return to the in box
5. Make sure you have selected "Return to the in box" and not "Open next item"

Hi, everyone: Here's my problem. When I scroll through my e mail messages
and enter on one and read it, and delete it, the next one opens before I can
delete it, usually as spam. I want to delete spam before it opens but
deleting can't take place quickly enough. Are there message rules or
something that I can activate so that hitting delete doesn't make succeeding
messages open automatically ? Thans. marilyn
