I think Andrew hit it right on the head, John O.
The Alt M  places you in one of the task bar selections pertaining to 
messages.  The Alt   S confirms that you want this particular pest 
eliminated from your list by blocking his messages permanently.
The second Alt S asks you if you want to delete all messages from that 
sender.
Of course, you do.

And that's it.  Some systems required another confirmation but I can't 
remember what that one was.
