I'm not sure I understand your question.

I do use Norton Anti-virus, version 2005, and have done so since it's 
release.

Although there was a fairly large learning curve with the program, Norton, 
that is, eventually, you get used to the interface, and learn what you're 
supposed to do.

If, you're asking about e-mail settings for Norton, I usually have it set to 
scan incoming mail, and disable the outgoing e-mail scan, as I know that the 
stuff that comes from my computer is safe, as anything that comes in, gets 
scanned.

That isn't to say that my computer isn't susceptible to malware, or spyware. 
You can get that stuff from anywhere you visit on the web, you just have to 
constantly stay vigilant, and monitor everything on a weekly basis, with 
scans and emptying the Recycle Bin, and other temporary files from your 
computer, as that is where these nasty files tend to like to hide.
