Neither do i use Thunderbird; but be sure to include the brackets [if there 
are brackets] in the phrase to be modified if you go that way, else you will 
be deleting all occurrences of those words when reading in thunderbird.

David I don't want to muddy up the list because I am not using the  same
operating system or Jaws version as most people and don't use Thunder Bird.
However it seems to me that you should be able to quiet the stuff you don't
want to hear by using the dictionary manager. This usually works as long as
the text is always the same. Just put the text string that you don't want
to hear in the original word edit box then tab to new word and hit the
space bar. If it doesn't work just go back in and delete that entry.
