Hi Aran,
I'm sorry to say, but those messages are probably gone.
When you chose to repair your Windows installation,
the process over-wrote the old files, with fresh ones.
This is why you saw only the messages that came in after the re-install.
I doubt that a file recovery utility would be of any use at this point,
since the disk has been re-written.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] How To Recover Outlook Express
MessagesAfterWindowsXP Reinstallation
Hi Ricque,
I deleted a very important file, and after that I was not able to restart my
PC.
The Dell support tried to help me, but after several trials, they could not
restart the PC, and they told me the only choice is to format the hard disk,
and reinstall the Windows XP operation system.
I did not accept this choice.
With the help of my daughter, we tried to reinstall Windows XP without
formatting the hard disk.
First when we had to select between install to repair, we click on install
Windows XP, and at the second choice between install and repair, we clicked
on repair.
After the automatic installation, the PC had the Windows installed with the
basic applications.
I had Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, but I had to setup the Outlook
Express users.
I used the search function on the start menu and I found the favorites and
most of my documents, and I was able to recover them easily.
I had to reinstall Microsoft Office application, JAWS and other
applications.
I believe that the email messages exist somewhere on my hard disk, but I can
not find them.
I found some *.DBX files, but when I clicked on them, I found myself in the
outlook express inbox, with only the messages that I received after I
reinstalled Windows.
I hope that I was able to explain what happened clearly enough...
Thank you very much and best wishes,
Aran

Hi Aran,
Yes, there are programs for doing this that work well with Jaws,
but before you go to that trouble, I'm somewhat confused about your
re-installation of Windows.
Could you explain how you went about the re-installation?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] How To Recover Outlook Express Messages After
WindowsXP Reinstallation
Hello,
2 weeks ago I caused my PC to crash, and I lost all my email messages and my
favorites list.
After reinstalling Windows XP, I was fortunate enough to recover all my
favorites and most of the documents that I had on the PC.
I made many attempts to find and recover my Outlook Express email messages,
but I was not able to find them, so obviously, I was not able to recover
them.
>From searching on the web, I realized that there are several software that
>theoretically can recover the lost email messages.
Does anybody know of a way to recover Outlook Express email messages or a
specific JAWS friendly software that can assist me with my email message
recovery?
Any help and suggestions that you can provide me are greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much and best wishes,
Aran
