Since I use the num pad for jaws, I still use the regular number row. I
wonder if it's because of typing so many years before computer keyboards and
being used to using that number row. The number pad for numbers really
slows me down because it's backwards from a touch tone phone! Yeah, I know
it's the way calculators are, but I don't use calculators, so it's too weird
for me. my former computer teacher tried to get me to learn it, and I could
have if I wanted, but once I learned I could do everything with the regular
numbers and punctuation keys, I didn't bother. It was too important to have
that num pad always available for my jaws navigation.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] number pad

Hi all,
thanks for the info on the number pad. I use it almost all day at work and
find it much faster than using the row of number keys. When entering a long
string of numbers, I find it much faster than the number row.
