Well, as mentioned earlier, you can use CDEX,
but David will have to comment further on WavPad, since I haven't looked at
recently.

Thank you for checking soundpad out for me. With out being able to
record external audio it doesn't sound like it would help us record our LP's
and cassettes. Wow, you saved me a lot of time chasing down the wrong road
on that one.
You also mentioned wavepad. Does that program record external audio?
