Hi John,
This is a feature of CDEX, which is turned on by default.
If there is a jitterduring the ripping process, CDEX will attempt to correct
it.
If you are hearing this alot while ripping a cd, it would be adviseable to
check the tracks for quality after ripping to make sure that
they will play correctly, without any breaks in the sound.
This is most apparent in cd drives that are cheap,,
and lack the ability to accurately read sectors on the disk.
This feature should be left on, in order to help minimize jitters on ripped
tracks.
Note:
You should treat cd ripping the same as cd burning, choosing a slower speed
for best results.
You can also check out the help file in CDEX, itt is accessible.
HTH,
Richard Justice

Subject: [JAWS-Users] a question on Cdex

Hi everyone can someone help me with understanding what this means?

When ripping a cd, especially a copy cd, I notice the cd slows down and I
keep hearing one of the following messages, this is what i think it's saying
anyway.

Jittery, jittery.
Jitter errors.

can you tell me what it means by this?

thanks

from John and guide dog Iris
