I have occasionally had issues with the Alt-Tab and JAWS not reading the
programs as I executed the command. I do not have hard data to prove what I
am about to say, it is only a hunch.

Let's say you are working in Word, and then you open Outlook. Now 2
programs are open and you are able to use Alt+Tab to move between the
programs. At some point when you are working in Outlook, some type of
dialog box pops up to warn you about something. This could be something
like "do you want to save changes you made to this message". You go ahead
and select your answer by clicking on the yes or no button, and continue
working in outlook. Now you use Alt+Tab to jump back to Word, and it does
not appear to be the next program in the list, or JAWS does not even read
it. I think that the dialog box messed up the virtual layers of the
programs that are running, and JAWS has to readjust to find the next program
that is open.

I think that this is also the case when you have 2 or more programs open and
you close one. You expect that you will land in the other program, but
instead JAWS is focused on nothing. I think that my dialog box theory has
yet once again messed up the virtual layering of the programs.

This is just a theory.

Hi Patricia,
I've experienced the same thing, in several versions of Jaws, but don't know
why.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and Alt-Tab

Hi List,

Is there a setting or is it just a glitch with Jaws 8 when I alt-tab to a
different window or program opened and close it out, I hear nothing.
Jaws is not apparently going to the back to the previous left opened
application. I have to alt tab to it.
Anything to be done?

Thanks,

Patricia
