Hi Patti,
Try this, it works for me.
If someone is going to send me an attachment, they need to contact me ahead 
of time,
and let me know what type of file it is, and what it contains.
If I'm not expecting attachments from anyone, and I get one, it gets deleted 
without giving it another thought.
This is a good way to protect yourself.
It's your computer, you define the rules for what you will, and will not 
acceptin e-mail.

I did everything you told me to do, but I still can't open up some
attachments. I'll tell my friend not to send me attachments. lol
