Hi: If you do not have the "Autocorrect Options " option on your tools menu then, by default, Word hides menu items that you don't use often. to see the full menu you can turn the hiding feature off. To turn it off hit the Tools menu, the Customize menu item, the Options tab, and then make sure Always show full menus is checked.
If you look at the full Tools menu you'll see that there is now an Autocorrect Options menu item. Select that and you'll see a dialog with several tabs corresponding to the different types of automatic changes Word can make for you. In each are the settings that will allow you to control just how much you want Word to do. Go to the Tools menu (ALT+T), AutoCorrect menu (A). "AutoCorrect" is the first Tab page of a four-page multi-level tab dialog box. TAB to and press SPACEBAR to uncheck the following items: "Correct two initial capitals", (ALT+O). "Capitalize first letter of sentences", (ALT+S). "Correct accidental use of caps lock key", (ALT+L). "AutoFormat as you type" is the second Tab page. TAB to and press SPACEBAR to uncheck the following items: a. "Headings", (ALT+D). "Automatic bulleted lists", (ALT+U). "Automatic numbered lists", (ALT+N). "Format beginning of list item like the one before it", (ALT+M). "AutoText" is the third Tab page. No changes. "AutoFormat" is the fourth Tab page. Uncheck "automatic bulleted lists", (ALT+U). Press TAB to move to the OK button and press ENTER to close the dialog box and save the changes. Change the View to Normal 1. Press Alt V to bring up the View menu 2. Press Enter on Normal Change the Zoom to 75 or 100percent: 1. Press Alt V to activate the View menu 2. Arrow down to Zoom and press Enter 3. Use the up and down arrow keys to look for 75 or 100percent. Then press Enter. Turn off Screen Tips: 1. Press Alt T to activate the Tools Menu 2. Arrow down to Options and press Enter 3. Make sure you are on the View Tab. To do this, press Shift plus Tab and if it is on View, you are in the right place. If it isn't on View, use the left and right arrow keys to locate View. 4. Tab to Screen Tips and uncheck this box by pressing the space bar. 5. Press Enter. Turn off animated Text: 1. Press alt T to activate the Tools menu 2. Arrow down to Options and press Enter 6. Make sure you are on the View Tab. To do this, press Shift plus Tab and if it is on View, you are in the right place. If it isn't use the left and right arrow keys to locate View. 7. Tab to animate text and uncheck this box by pressing the space bar. 8. Press Enter Turn off Provide Feedback with Animation: 1. Press Alt T to activate the Tools Menu. 2. Arrow down to Options and press Enter. 3. Press Control Tab to move to the General Page Tab. 4. Tab to Provide Feedback with animation and uncheck this box by pressing the space bar. 5. Press Enter. Turning off the Clipboard Toolbar: 1. Press Alt plus V to activate the View menu. 2. Arrow down to Toolbars and press Enter. 3. Arrow down to Clipboard and if it says that it is checked, press Enter to turn it off.
