Hi:
If you do not have the "Autocorrect Options " option on your tools menu then,
by default, Word hides menu items that you don't use often. to see the full
menu you can turn the hiding feature off. To turn it off hit the Tools menu,
the Customize menu item, the Options tab, and then make sure Always show full
menus is checked.

If you look at the full Tools menu you'll see that there is now an Autocorrect
Options menu item. Select that and you'll see a dialog with several tabs

corresponding to the different types of automatic changes Word can make for
you. In each are the settings that will allow you to control just how much

you want Word to do.

Go to the Tools menu (ALT+T), AutoCorrect menu (A).

"AutoCorrect" is the first Tab page of a four-page multi-level tab dialog box.

uncheck the following items:

a. "Headings", (ALT+D).

"Automatic bulleted lists", (ALT+U).

"Automatic numbered lists", (ALT+N).

"AutoText" is the third Tab page.

No changes.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Word Settings for Optimal Performance with Jaws

Hi Folks,

It seems that I'm having a great deal of trouble creating documents with
Microsoft Word 2003 and Jaws 7.

For the most part, it's the auto-correct feature, as it is constantly placing
an indented list and numbering it with a number I don't want it to be. It also
seems to be forcing Jaws to lag behind in my typing.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of settings for Microsoft Word and
Jaws 7, that I can download and use as a reference?

Any help would be appreciated.

Victor
