I believe that this has already been put to bed when I stated that I am the only person who can make such a change and that it wasn't going to happen at all. I've been running a mailing list in one form or another for almost 3 years already and this is how in my opinion they work best. Also discussing such things on the list are contradictory to the guidelines.
