Hi Tammy John R. here I'm going to run through it step by step for you and as I'm typing it down here I'm running through it in the background as well.
I'm using outlook express 2000 but they are nearly all the same. i'm also using Jaws 8.0. Open from within the program. you need to first create a folder you do this with Shift+e. make sure you are in the right place before creating the folder as if you are on the in box for example it will make an inside folder on the inbox so then your inbox will say then Inbox closed then you would need to right arrow on inbox and then arrow down once and then you would find your folder but this applies to any of the other folders unless you go up to Local folders and then it will create a stand alone folder then you can bein the following steps. Tools menu. Message rules. Male. Tab once to new and press enter. now you will be in a multilist window with lots of different lists. the first list you land on will ask you to choose where it will look to find what you want it to sort by example say you wanted to sort all of a certain group in to one folder then you need in this first list to go down on to subject and then press spacebar once. where the group name will appear in the subject but if you want say to ignore someone then you need the first option in the list so you can tell it to look at the name or to field. by pressing spacebar once this selects it. now tab It will ask you now what you want to do, Move, Copy etc. arrow on to one of them and example Move, then press again the spacebar this now selects it again. now tab again. Now you've got two options here First one says, Apply this rule when the messages come in press spacebar on that. this has selected it. now arrow down once this will say if you have selected subject word to use press enter on this and a new window will open. type in the box that you land in what you want the program to sort it by example, if you chose the subject you might put in the box spam or spammers and then tab once and press enter or space on the add button. keep adding words that apply only for this rule. then when finished go across to the OK button. now tab again. Now you need to type a name for the rule be as descriptive as you can as you want to be able to know what that rule has been created for and then tab again once to OK and press enter. now you will find you land in a colum where your new named and created rule is sitting now tab across until you find the apply button and press enter on it. if you've got any messages to be moved it will move then and then you should hear a short sound. now tab across again and then go to the close button. now you tab across again and you will find the OK button press enter on that and now that's your rule created.I hope this helps I know it works that way because that's the way I took it from Daves website the owner of the sight and he's tutorial I give credit to because I was in the same boat as you and didn't know what to do so I hope this helps. from John and guide dog Iris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kerryann Ifill" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2007 11:59 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] message rules help requested Hi Tammy, Tab over once and enter words in to the list, the add button will then be active and tab to it and press enter.
