First a quick explanation of what "multi-threading" is.  Multi threading is a  
way for one program to do  multiple things at the same time without having to 
return to a "control from one bit of code to another.).



Think of things this way?  Even if JAWS is not multi-threaded, you are 
attempting to run multiple applications each of which has at least one thread 
(JAWS + what even  application jaws is speaking for.)  Also I am fairly sure 
from the behavior people saw in JAWS 6 that at least the TTS engine is a 
separate thread or application. Also don't forget all those other applications 
your computer is running.  I did a quick check right now and my XP box has 72  
programs listed in its processes tab.
