Yeah, that 's what I was thinking too. I'm not completely sold on any or all security software, so I tend to keep the investment low. If the program does exactly what it claims, and performs as wel across the board as it does on my system, it would certainly be a good investment. According to my brief look at the manual this program is fully featured exactly like the professional version for 30 days, at that point it reverts to the free version which doesn't offer real time protection. So in other words they give you a good look at what a real time anti spy ware program is like hoping that you'll be impressed with it enough to pay the $29.00. Actually pretty smart on their part I must say. I'll probably take it around the block here shortly. There's no problem having multiple programs of this type installed, as long as the user, is not trying to run them at the same time. If you run the program from the sys tray, everything you need is right there. It doesn't seem to be having any adverse affects on the system I have it installed on, so, I'll just leave it. I may give this one more shot before giving it up for good, however I am happy with Spybot and Ad Aware, but if there is a better solution then I guess AVG Anti-spy is one possibility. Thanks again. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ricque" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2007 5:10 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] AVG ANTI-SPY >I was able to use the program with the following versions of Jaws: 6.2, >7.0, and 8.0. > The program uses a standard installer which is no problem to naviggate. > The main window has to be navigated with the Jaws cursor. > The program can be accessed from the system tray, > and has the following items in the context menu: > Show main window > Run online update > Scan memory > Resident Shield > Automatic Updates > Start with Windows > Language > Information > Exit > I had no problem accessing any of these items. > In some of these windows, it's only a matter of performing a left mouse > click with the Jaws cursor, > on words like scheduler, update, or settings. > In some of the windows, clicking on an item, will open a dialogue from > which you can move thru > selections useing the tab key. > All of the necessary features can be accessed from the context menu much > easier than from the > program's main window. > I wouldn't write the program off, on the basis of having to use the Jaws > cursor. > The scan I performed, was quick, and the results easy to read. > It didn't find any problems, so I can't advise on how to proceed with > that. > However, from what I saw, it looked like to me, that it would not be hard > to figure out. > I'm not going to write complete instructions, since there doesn't appear > to be standard controls, > and how each individual machine, may cause Jaws > to respond differently. > Richard Justice > www.blind-computing.com > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] > To post to this group, send email to > [email protected] > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following form in order to contact the management team > http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
