Do you have the latest version of Adobe Reader? If not, this may be the problem. Adobe Reader versions 7 and up will work very well with JAWS. Each PDF document you load will load in the virtual buffer, as if it was a web page. So it's definitely possible to read PDF documents, providing you have the above version of Adobe Reader.
