What you need to do is to unload Jaws before disconnecting your USB headset.
Then after disconnecting, restart Jaws.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] strange behavior with USB headset and jaws

Hi al. I've bought a Logitech premium headset, the model is I think 250.
If I disconnect, sometimes jaws acts like normal, other times like just a
minute ago it freezes up and not even Narrator will wake his butt up to read
anything, so I end up powering down the laptop which I don't want to-do do,
then getting it up and running. and sometimes there's an application filet
submit as error, other times like this, not. anyone have a clue what's up?
