There is a command for this, which I don't know, so I don't have a direct answer to your question, but a different approach. If you switch to Normal View, under the View menu, you avoid the necessity of having to switch columns. The word displays your document as if it is all one column. I think this is easier to work with. Page Layout displays the columns on screen, which works fine for sighted persns using a mouse, but there may be other ways to do it. Blessings, Tom
