Artur & Eric--Thanks to you both. I did find and turned off the language
detection and that fixded that problem.
Next problem...
In Office 2007, when looking in "my documents", Jaws 9 (with last week's
latest update)changes focus on the document I wish to select and drops me
back close to the beginning of the document list. The only way I can
prevent this backward movement is by immediately highlighting the document I
wish to select by hitting the spacebar. Any solution for this problem?
Thanks. chris

Chris,
The "Language Detection" option should be there in JAWS 9 just as Artur
pointed out. It is under reading options. I find it buy pressing INSERT V
(While focused on Microsoft Word 2007 or 2003) and then I type l a n quickly
and land on the item.
Regards,
Eric Damery

Hi,

in JAWS 9.0 is language detection on for word documents too.
to change this settings:
1. open word
2. press JAWS key + v - open JAWS verbosity list (adjust JAWS options) 3.
press end key (move to end of list) 4. press up arrow 6 times 5. on choice
Language Detect Change - On press space bar.
6. press enter.
