I am a new GoldWave user so please keep that in mind as you read this. I installed the latest Jaws scripts for the latest version of Gold Wave and all seemed to be well. At some point I noticed the Windows default sound playing at various times during my recording and playing of files in GoldWave. I muted Jaws speech in the program and noticed the same thing. I then unloaded Jaws and tried another screen reader. The odd behavior went away. I assume this is a problem with the scripts in relation to the latest beta of Jaws, but I'm not sure. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? By the way, regarding the problems I was having when saving a file in GoldWave as an MP3 file, I discovered that there are various settings such as MP3 mono and MP3 stereo in GoldWave. I was saving a mono file in stereo; that's why I was hearing the strange artifacts when playing the file back using another program. Thanks to all who offered help with that one.
