I have found AVG Internet Security accessible - but I have not delved deeply
into the program.

All the bits seem to be doing their jobs so I have left it alone to get on
with it which it seems perfectly happy to do. I do not like programs which
constantly announce their activity. The firewall in particular is not
obtrusive and is not constantly asking me about connections and seems
intelligent enough to sort things out for itself. I have had no connection
issues so I presume it is doing its job.

AVG picked up 5 threats that NOD 32 had missed on its initial scan so I am
happy to trust it for the time being whilst the computer appears to be
working well. If things go flaky I will revert to Ad Aware and Spybot and
so on. For the time being it is a relief to just let AVG sort all this out
in the background and not have to bother with these scans.

I have checked my junk email folder from time to time. One or 2 emails have
had to be retrieved - however this seems an issue which occurs with nearly
all span filters.

I am afraid I am unable to answer the questions in relation to your
router.

Regards

David Griffith

John

Thanks, I've checked out the site and have a couple of questions for folks
on this list that have installed this. First what has been the experience
of folks to date in terms of going with the internet security bundle? Is
the install JAWS friendly and fairly simple? Once installed, is there much
configuration? My biggest question is with the firewall. I have a lynksys
router and this acts as my firewall. How will this program interact with
that? Last question is with the Spam feature. When I used MS office Spam
feature it put many things I wanted in folders I was not aware of so I had
to constantly check two to three places to see if there was mail I missed.
how does this Spam feature work?

thanks
Al
