Hello,

If you are using Windows Vista then check out the following:

1. Open control panel from the start menu. If using first letter
navigation remember to down arrow off of the search box before pressing the
letter C for control panel. Press enter to open the panel.
2. Type the word Taskbar (one word) into the search box, and then tab until
you hear the Taskbar and start menu choice.
3. After pressing enter on the Taskbar and Start menu link, press shift
with tab to move to the page tabs of the dialog box. Then use the right
arrow key to move to the notification tab.
4. Tab one time and see if the Show inactive icons choice is checked. You
can uncheck it if you want to. Keep tabbing to the checkboxes for such
things as clock, volume, power and network. use the spacebar to check or
uncheck the items. Checking them will show them in the notification area.

Steps are slightly different for XP, but I think you probably got a new
system with Vista.

Merry Christmas

Brian Lee
