Hi,

When an mp3 is encoded, it can be encoded at 44.1kHz, the normal 
encoding resolution for audio CDs, for instance.  Bitrate (the number 
of bits used during a given time period in an audio stream) is another matter.

If the files are playing at double speed, I'd guess that they were 
encoded at 22.05 kHz instead of 44.1.  If this is the case, 
"resample" the file in GoldWave and then save it under its original 
filename.  Problem solved.

You can write me off-list if I can help walk you through this.  It's 
pretty easy to do, but I'm not great at explaining things.
