I have just given Feed Demon a try. The setup is accessible but I personally
found the interface confusing. You may be able to sort it out but I am not
sure it is worth the effort. Out of the free options I think Accessible RSS
Reader may be a better bet and it is certainly a lot easier to use.

For me I will not be moving from NewsAloud . Although you have to purchase
NewsAloud I have found this the simplest way to be alerted for and read
feeds. On my system Jaws announces when a new feed arrives. I Normally Use
Jaws and not the self voicing capabilities of NewsAloud. Basically you
cursor down a list of feeds. You press control plus W to open and read the
feed in a web page and then press control plus w to close the Internet
Explorer 7 page and return to the NewsAloud list of latest feeds. Pressing
delete will delete the feed you have just read. Very simple.

NewsAloud will present all your feeds in a single list which I find
simpler.

Very occasionally a feed will not open in a web page. In these cases
pressing control plus A will make NewsAloud read these in self voicing mode.

The only accessibility drawback that I recall is that you need to use the
Jaws cursor to edit the default list of news sources. Personally I unchecked
all of these and only use it for RSS feeds that I have entered. Another
drawback is that the program does not appear to be able to import or export
lists of multiple feeds. These have to be pasted in singly and manually.

Having said that it work well for me at least and it is the simplest
interface I have found.

I think there is still a 30 day trial version from NextUp which can help you
see if you can get on with it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Feed Demon

Has anyone tried using Feed Demon with JAWS? I was wondering how accessible
it is? I am currently using Bloglines and am not truly happy with it. I have
heard good things about Feed Demon, and since it is free now, I thought I
would try it. If anyone has any thoughts on the accessibility of this
reader, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Erin
