or start gg and press jaws key six for configuration manager, then alt
s for set options and a for advanced. now check sleep mode enabled and
if you want, unload synthesizer. now press enter and alt f4. when it
asks you if you want to save your changes, hit yes. now when grizzly
gulch gains focus jaws will partially unload, no hotkeys or voice, but
any scripts like the cuckoo clock will still be running.

not sure if it's the same with your sound card, but i have a realtek
hd card, which has a sound manager. look in your system tray (jaws
key+f11) or control panel for an audio manager, or check your sound
card resources. HTH!
