Every body has their own opinions on software. For what its worth here is my view on upgrading.
If What you are talking about is thinking of upgrading to Office 2007 my advice is not to do it unless it is absolutely necessary. I received Office 2007 with my new PC and witching a week I had taken it off and reinstalled my old Office 2003. We will probably all have to move up eventually but I want to postpone that evil day as long as possible. There is a significant learning curve with 2007 and despite the publicity that old 2003 keystrokes will continue to work this is by no means true in every case. I am probably a creature of habit but personally I hate the layout of the ribbons, the new use of tab and shift tab to access menu items and the unfamiliar locations of things like the Tools menu options. Having been a confident user of Office for over 10 years I found myself a novice again with 2007. Not a pleasant experience. My advice is not to move to 2007 unless there are features that you are determined to get though 2007 appears to have stripped out as much as it has added. Hi. I'm using Jaws 6 with Windows XP and Microsoft 2002. I'd like to upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to do this. I've been onto the Microsoft website, and there are links for the various applications such as Outlook, Word, Access etc, but I'm wondering if there's an update for everything. I would also like to know if the upgrade is free? Thanks for any advice on this.
