the thumb drive version is a full version of jaws minus support for hardware synths and brille displays and multiple user eettings. Whether it runs in 40-minute mode or as a fully authorized version depends on whether the computer you want to run it on has a valid authorization for jaws, either ilm or dongle. if you need to use jaws on the go a lot, you might want to get a dongle to carry with you to authorize jaws.
