Doug, I am not experiencing the same problem with Jaws 9 and word pad. If you haven't already, try unloading Jaws and then restarting it. If that doesn't help, you could try unloading Jaws and then go to your run, windows key r and type in, jaws9 /default and press enter. Notice the forward slash before the word default. Then try the control end or home and see if you get the same results. If not, then I would suggest doing a repair on Jaws.
