Roger, If you have a hundred people responding to your question, you will likely get a hundred different opinions. My opinion is a Dell laptop. As for as XP or Vista, I like Vista, but it is a lot different than XP. Should you go with Vista, you will either need to get the home version or upgrade your Jaws to pro. The same with XP. I know that doesn't give you a lot of information, but the final choice is up to you as to what you buy.
