Actually carbonite oes not yet support external back ups but you can contact them and let them know you would like to see this feature soon. Yes the back up and restore is very easy. No jaws will not tell you the percentage of a back up/restore but you can if you feel so inclined view the logs.
Take care. I listened to your podcast, but to be honest, I could not follow your demonstration with Jaws since the speed was too fast for me to understand what you were doing. What I would like to know, can you tell the progress of the backup with Jaws. Does Jaws speak the percentages of completion or can you use either the Jaws or PC cursor to determine the progress? Another question, do you know how secure the data is on Carbonite site? I could not tell if you demonstrate the restore process. If you did, can you select a particular folder or file to restore without restoring the complete backup? And is the restore accessible as the backup process is? Sorry for so many questions. I lost most of my music files on my secondary hard drive and I am determine never to let that happen again. I have an old backup on one of my external hard drive, but I don't have the slightest idea of the life expectancy of external hard drives. I would be in duck soup if my external hard drive crashes. Thanks in advance for any help and answering my questions. Lennie At 05:51 PM 2/29/2008, you wrote: >Yep I love carbonite as well.
