I'm running JAWS 18.0.2324 under Windows 10 with a Focus 40 Blue braille
display. I typed G + dot 7 + space to turn contracted braille on for input.
(By default, I have contracted braille on for display). I then created a new
Microsoft Word document and typed some text in Grade 2 braille, which was
correctly translated and inserted into the document.

So, it's working fine here with JAWS 18. Try switching to the default settings
with Insert+Space, z (switching back with the same command once you've
finished). Then enable Grade 2 input and see whether it works. If so,
something is wrong with your settings.

If it still doesn't work, try a JAWS repair. If it doesn't work after that, I
think it's time to contact VFO.
